・Tesco's chief executive will hold talks with advisers this week about abandoning the sale of Dunnhumby, Sky News understands.
・Sky News understands that Dave Lewis, Tesco's chief executive, will hold talks with colleagues and advisers later this week about whether to proceed with a sale of Dunnhumby, which utilises data gathered from the supermarket giant's Clubcard loyalty scheme.
・Insiders said that no decision had yet been made about Dunnhumby's future, but they suggested that Mr Lewis was keen to reach an imminent judgement as he strives to transform the fortunes of the UK's biggest retailer.
The news that a verdict on the data unit is likely to be reached this week comes days after Sky News revealed that the private equity firms which had expressed an interest in buying it had withdrawn from the auction.
・WPP Group, the marketing services giant, is understood to be the sole remaining bidder, leaving Tesco with little room to negotiate robustly over the value of a deal, according to a source close to the supermarket chain.

・Sir Martin Sorrell’s WPP Group is understood to be the only bidder left for the unit, according to Sky News sources.
・A number of private equity bidders are believed to have withdrawn from the race for Dunnhumby over difficulties with securing financing from banks.
・Dunnhumby’s new owner faces having to secure another agreement with the company after Tesco struck a five-year deal with the business. It means new owners would have to secure a new deal in 2020.
・The report suggested that WPP could yet agree a partnership arrangement with Tesco, instead of an outright acquisition.
・Tesco boss Dave Lewis is overseeing a wide-ranging portfolio review of the grocer’s non-core assets after the supermarket giant reported its biggest ever statutory loss of £6.38bn in April.
・Earlier this month Tesco sold its South Korean business, Homeplus, for £4.2bn.

・ダンハンビーの売却がいよいよ決まりそうです。SKY NEWSによれば、今週中（先週）にもテスコのCEOのDave Lewis が売却先を1社に絞るのではとの記事です。その後、出資比率、テスコグループのフォロー体制の詰めの話に入るとのことです。今回の案件には数社応札していますが、WPPが有力なようですが、ファンドも可能性がありそうです。少し、気になるのは売却額であり、£700mと、日本円に換算すると約1300億円ですので、当初の売却額予想約3500億円の半値以下といえます。実際にはいくらになるのか、どのような条件で売却されるいか、わかりませんが、ダンハビーの価値がアメリカの食品スーパー、クローがーとの提携が事実上解消されたことが大きいではと思います。どのような発表があるか、気になるところです。
